3D Force Industry Events (April 20)

3D is cheap enough that it’s a real option for Indie filmmakers. I’m going to try out rebroadcasting the Events Calendar by 3D Force and see how folks like it. Chime in, if you like it or if you don’t.

I feel compelled to give John Robert Christopher some props for keeping 3D Force alive after 3D  stopped being talked about so much at NAB and CES. It seems like there’s an assumption that since most Box Office 3D films bomb, 3D is not a viable paint brush for Indie filmmakers to use. That’s just backwards. It’s like saying that making black and white films, silent films or even films made with mirrorless cameras aren’t viable choices for Indie filmmakers because most films in the Box Office aren’t made like that.  If you’re into 3D, go do your 3D thing. Find your audience, and connect with John, he’s the patron saint of 3D as far as I’m concerned.

John puts this list together once or twice a month, and I’m going to support him by further broadcasting the work he’s doing aggregating information. Here are a list of mostly free events and screenings, if you find yourself in the LA area, check them out.
